About Casino Hold’em

Casino Hold’em is a poker-style table game credited to Pragmatic Play. It is not a reel slot. There are no reels, no rows and no paylines, and nothing spins. You are dealt two hole cards, the dealer takes two of their own, and five community cards are shared between you. The better five-card hand wins the round, and the whole thing is settled on a single fold-or-call decision.

Pragmatic Play moved into the live poker category with this title on 18 June 2025, and the returns published for it split across four separate bet types rather than landing on one headline number. That split is the detail worth carrying into a session, because the figure you are actually playing to depends on which bets you have chips on. Ante play carries the strongest return of the four. The two optional side bets sit several percentage points below it.

How to Play Casino Hold’em

Every round opens with an Ante bet. Once it is down you get your two hole cards, the dealer receives two face down, and three community cards go out on the table. From there you have one decision to make: fold and forfeit the Ante, or Call at twice the Ante to bring out the turn and the river.

The dealer needs a pair of fours or better to qualify. If they miss that, the Call bet is returned and the Ante pays on the Ante paytable regardless of who holds the stronger hand. Beat a qualifying dealer and both bets pay, with the Ante scaling up on premium hands: a Royal Flush is the top Ante payout at 100 to 1, which is where the 100x maximum win figure comes from. Side bets, where you want them, are placed at the same time as the Ante and are settled on the flop. Stakes at Midnite start from £0.5 per hand.

Casino Hold’em Features

  • Ante and Call structure: the Ante is the mandatory opening wager. The Call, at twice the Ante, is optional and only made after you have seen your hole cards and the flop. This is the only point in the round where the player makes a decision.
  • Ante paytable: the Ante pays out on hand strength rather than on a flat basis, running from even money on ordinary winning hands up to 100 to 1 on a Royal Flush.
  • Dealer qualification: the dealer must hold a pair of fours or better. When the dealer does not qualify, the Call bet is returned to the player and the Ante is still paid.
  • AA+ Side Bet: an optional wager on the strength of the five-card hand made from your two hole cards plus the flop, paying from a pair of aces upwards. It is settled separately from the main game and carries its own return of 93.74%.
  • Jackpot Side Bet: a second optional wager, also settled on the flop, which pays on a straight, four of a kind or a straight flush. Its return is 94.04%, again separate from the Ante game.

Casino Hold’em Theme and Symbols

There is no narrative theme here. Casino Hold’em is presented as a card table, and the visual language is the standard one: green felt, marked betting positions for the Ante, Call and side bets, and a 52-card deck rendered clearly enough to read hand strength at a glance on a phone. Pragmatic Play's Smart Studio setup allows operators to run branded table environments, so the exact table dressing can differ between sites.

The symbols, in the sense that matters, are the poker hands themselves. Card ranks and suits carry all the value, and the paytable hierarchy runs from a straight or a pair of aces at the bottom end of the side bets up through flushes, full houses and four of a kind to a straight flush and a Royal Flush. Reading the flop for what it can still become is a large part of playing the fold-or-call decision well.

Games Like Casino Hold’em

  • Jacks or Better Draw Poker: released alongside Casino Hold’em as the second title in the same live poker series, built on the familiar draw poker paytable rather than a dealer duel.
  • Three Card Poker: a shorter player-versus-dealer format with an Ante, a Play bet and a Pair Plus side bet. Suits players who want the same structure with fewer streets.
  • Ultimate Texas Hold’em: closer to Casino Hold’em in shape, but with multiple raise points across the hand instead of a single fold-or-call decision.
  • Live Blackjack: a different game entirely, but a reasonable next stop for players who came to Casino Hold’em for the low house edge and the decision-making rather than the poker itself.

Casino Hold’em FAQs

What is the RTP of Casino Hold’em?

There is no single figure. The Ante return is 97.84% measured against the Ante alone and 99.18% measured against the total amount wagered across the round. The Jackpot side bet returns 94.04% and the AA+ side bet returns 93.74%.

Is Casino Hold’em a slot?

No. Casino Hold’em is a poker-style table game, not a traditional reel slot. There are no reels, no paylines and no spinning symbols. Players place an Ante, receive two hole cards, then fold or Call after the flop, and the round is settled against the dealer's five-card hand.

How do you win on Casino Hold’em?

You win by holding a better five-card hand than the dealer, using any combination of your two hole cards and the five community cards. If the dealer does not qualify with a pair of fours or better, the Call bet is returned and the Ante still pays.

What is the volatility of Casino Hold’em?

Casino Hold’em is rated Medium (4-6). Most rounds settle for modest amounts on the Ante paytable, and the larger payouts are concentrated in rare premium hands and in the optional side bets.

What is the maximum win on Casino Hold’em?

The maximum win is 100x, which corresponds to the 100 to 1 Ante payout for a Royal Flush.

What are the AA+ and Jackpot side bets?

Both are optional wagers placed alongside the Ante and settled on the flop. AA+ pays on a hand of a pair of aces or better made from your hole cards and the three community cards. The Jackpot bet pays on a straight, four of a kind or a straight flush. Each has its own return, lower than the Ante game.

Can I play Casino Hold’em on mobile?

Yes. The game runs on iOS and Android via the Midnite app or mobile browser.
